Perth Paediatric Gastro - Paediatric Gastroscopy
Paediatric gastroscopy/upper GI endoscopy procedure enables the gastroenterologist to examine the lining of the upper part of the gastrointestinal tract, i.e. the esophagus (swallowing tube),
stomach and duodenum (first portion of the small intestine) for any abnormalities. During the test, biopsies are taken which are helpful for the diagnosis. Gastroenterologist can also measure certain digestive enzymes (disaccharides) and also identify certain infections like H Pylori.
